By using scrolled strips for the production of can ends considerable material savings can be obtained.
The scroll shear cuts the edge of the sheets and then cuts them in a zigzag shape. The sheet is being fed by an automatic sheet feeder which feeds the sheet on the first table for cutting the edges. Thereafter it will be transported to the shearing knife. The exact size of the strips is determined by special pins.
