The jury explained their decision with the outstanding customer benefit due to a new inline measuring device in the rounding station. The ARS is analysing the body blank material characteristics and is setting the roll form geometry automatically to give the cylinder a constant geometry independent of material characteristics.

Leading Korean Canmaker Reports Radical Improvements on Two Fronts. A Soudronic partner of some 30 years' standing, SeungIl Can Mfg Co. Ltd., recently commissioned a fully automatic high-speed welder that has increased production of its aerosol domestic cooking gas cans to 600 cpm. Perhaps more importantly, the production line handles 0.18 mm tinplate, hardness DR9 (620 N/mm2), and has slashed material consumption. Read more
