Goal of training
Although the 3-piece canmaking industry is well established and considered by many as «old fashioned», it remains a fast moving industry with many challenges. It is important for all decision makers to keep up with current and future technological trends in order to remain competitive. By means of this management training course, Soudronic as major global player in this industry is offering to all participants the opportunity to share its experience.
Content of training
The two-days management training will give participants an in depth insight in today’s state-of-the-art 3-piece manufacturing process from the can design all the way to the quality assurance. It will highlight today’s best practices in every step of the production of a 3-piece can, from the slitter to the seamer.
The training will begin with an introduction to canmaking. It will then cover each item of a modern 3-piece can manufacturing line: slitter, body blank transfer system, welder, weld monitor, seam protection by means of lacquer or powder, curing oven, conveyor systems and can seaming (including the processes of separating, necking, flanging, beading and shaping).
The emphasis of the course will be given to the increase in efficiency and cost reduction. Either by means of downgauging, waste reduction and production optimization.

Goal of training
The participants to the seminar will be sensitized to the essential role quality assurance plays in today’s quest for higher productivity. Upon completion of the seminar they will be able to gauge if their own quality control processes are up-to-date in comparison to the current best practices in the industry.
Content of training
Through a theoretical and hands-on seminar, participants will be offered an in-depth analysis of the quality requirements and best quality assurance practices during the entire process of the manufacturing of a 3-piece can. The training will begin with a short introduction to canmaking and then cover the quality issues for each item of a modern 3-piece can manufacturing line: slitter, body blank transfer system, welder, weld monitor, powder seam protection and curing oven.
The emphasis of the course will be given to modern monitoring devices (i.e. weld or seam protection monitors) and the influence of the different processes on each other.
